Eddie & The Hot Rods – Farewell Tour!

LAST EVER SHOW IN THE WEST COUNTRY EVER!
Just announced this will be the band’s final year of touring

Without doubt one of the foremost alternative rock bands of the 1970’s

Celebrating over forty years as one of the most vibrant and exiting bands still touring today.

Life on the Line is the second studio album released by Legendary pub rock band Eddie and the Hot Rods that reached top 30 on the UK Albums Chart.

The album is considered a step in the Punk direction for The Rods sound.

The album featured three singles: “Do Anything You Wanna Do”, “Life on the Line”, and “Quit This Town”.

DO ANYTHING YOU WANNA DO
I don’t need no politicians to tell me things I shouldn’t be
Neither no opticians to tell me what I oughta see
No-one tells you nothing even when you know they know
They tell you what you should be
They don’t like to see you grow

Why don’t you ask them what they expect from you ?
Why don’t you tell them what you’re gonna do
You get so lonely, maybe it’s better that way
It ain’t you only, you got something to say
Do anything you wanna do
Do anything you wanna do

Barrie Masters still fronting the band…

A Brief history…
Eddie and the Hot Rods began life in 1976, when four teenagers from Southend on Sea got together playing their own style of fast energetic rock and roll and R’n’B, they soon became a big hit on the London scene.

Catching the eyes and ears of the music press and the major record companies, they were soon signed up by the legendary Island Records and went on to have three hit albums and four top forty UK singles including the Top Ten hit ‘Do Anything You Wanna Do’. There have been numerous TV appearances worldwide and they have filled almost every major venue in the UK. A success in the USA too, they have toured alongside The Ramones, Tom Petty, The Police, Squeeze and Talking Heads.

Still led by the ‘very Rock n Roll’ Barrie Masters, the band have been playing all over the world including France, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Croatia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Poland, Japan and Russia, as well as four successful tours of the USA in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013,2014 and 2016.

The band still write and introducing new songs to the classic set, as can be heard on the recently released “New York: Live” – a recording of their show at Brooklyn’s Southpaw venue, on one of their last USA tours.
Recently the band toured as special guest to global rockers

THE GODFATHERS OF BRITISH ALTERNATIVE ROCK & ROLL

Supported by: Nasty Habits

The original concept of the band was to play covers recorded by other artists, but choose material that was non mainstream and mainstream. However, it was important to us to make sure that the songs were upbeat and easy to dance to. With that in mind our repertoire is probably best described as “funky blues” but with a rock influence.
